:D
Another half a stone to lose and I’ll finally be settled :)
Thank-you gym instructor and god knows whatever I did to make me lose 5lbs this week!
I think Powerpoint should come with a warning on the box, or a little dialogue window when you download it.
A short break from the taking of photos for a second for something that annoys me on a daily basis.
This is a PowerPoint slide from an old set of lecture notes and it has all the properties that a set of notes shouldn’t have; It’s got a colour background which means i’ll need the income of a Saudi Sheikh to print all 41 of them, the colour also makes them difficult to read because the text doesn’t stand out, it doesn’t fit nicely onto an A4 page, the picture is either going to be too crampt or out the sides of the theme, I can’t highlight the important bits (of which there are few) when there is any text, and slide space is taken up by having the full title of the lecture at the top of every single slide. All of this was no doubt done, “to hold those fidgety students attention” but in fact it’s just a pain to deal with.
The subject matter is complicated and dull enough, no need to make the lecture slides that way too. And for the love of god, don’t make it move or make noise.
Keep it simple…
Black and white, good use of colour only for very important bits, title on the first slide, two slides to a page, each diagram annotated on the same page, maximum 15 slides per presentation.
As soon as the first of this lecturer’s slides appeared on the whiteboard, a look of despair appeared on almost every student’s face. We’re design students godammit! Shouldn’t have to put up with such bad design for 2 hours every Thursday.
hai.
this is me lunching in royal exchange square.
I like to pretend I’m posh…
even though I’m poor.
